GOTCHA DAY

Oh my word....prayers are answered.

Faith is just perfect. Not a tear to be had when we first saw her. she called us Mama & Baba right away. Her nanny told us that when she would see a plane in the sky, she would say 'mama, baba, gege' - meaning we were coming for her. No tears when the nannies left, no tears yet.

We got off the elevator and there she was with her nanny and the orphanage director.  she walked right over to us, let me pick her up and that was it!!!  no tears, no fuss, just perrfect!

We played with bubbles, while we asked her nannie lots of questions (I think our guide, Michael, got most of the conversation on video - haven't had a chance to check yet).  She was so content, just sitting there looking at us, playing with bubbles, having a little snack, etc.

Noah was AMAZING, in helping, not interupting, asking his own (great questions), etc!  so proud of him!!!

Her nanny told us that when she would see an airplane in the sky, she would say 'ba ba, ma ma' - knowing that we were coming for her on an airplane!  She is SO smart....wonder what is going on in her little mind and heart!

THANK YOU for your prayers.

Out of ALL the scenerios i had played over in my mind, PERFECT was NOT one of them about how it would 'go down' when we first met her.  I assumed there would be some tears, some hesitation, some fears.  It was VERY obvoius (and I used to wonder what this 'really' meant when I read other people say this) that her Nanny LOVED her a great deal and prepared her for us the VERY BEST she could!

We got back to the hotel room, she has been playing lots. One of the first things she did, was took her shoes off, kissed them and hid them behind a bag. I found her polka dot squeeky shoes and she immediately tried to put them on herself. I complied. I had a headband with a flower on it, so we put it on...I showed her in the mirror. She LOVED herself...was very proud of herself. So then she wanting the rest of her clothes off, so we complied. Layer, by layer, by layer....she wanted to get naked (Anissa has a buddy now Barb). So off with the clothes she went.... Mama complied, got her a little cute outfit and put it on. As soon as she was dressed, she went right to the mirror to look at herself, running around with her squeeky shoes....OH BLESS HER HEART!!!

She asked me to pick her up (well, motioned) and she started to fall asleep, sweet little peanut missed her nap with all the excitement this afternoon! so now she's sleeping on jacques for a little power nap!

Gotta run to spend some time with my big boy..i think at this time he may be feeling a bit left out, although he has been BETTER than AMAZING!!!

Life can't be sweeter!!!

Tomorrow, we go back to the Civil Affairs office to finish up the adoption.  We plan to go on Wednesday to her orphanage..a big decision about whether or not to.  Seeing her personality and how laid back she is, we have decided TO visit.  We asked them what they most need, and it's toys from 3-5 years - OH MY....I can't wait to go to Toy's R Us in Chongqing (which is in a 7 floor mall, attached to our hotel) and stock up on toys for Faith's orphanage.
